Mind What Matters

What’s going to keep you from your brand-new future? For many, it’s majoring in the minor. Scripture says, “they will soar on wings like eagles”. The “they” are those who place their trust and peace in God and do not become weighted down with trivialities.

We tend to major in three types of “minor”:

Minor thinking. We say “I’m not qualified” or “I’m too old”. Pivot from that: I am more than enough because that’s the way God made me.

Minor people. Small-minded people squash big dreams. Enough said.

Minor ‘irritants’. There are major and minor irritants in life. Major ones include debt retirement, losing weight and paying for our kid’s college. It’s the minor irritants which rob us most: people who look at us funny; being cut off on the freeway and wearing a mask during a pandemic. Don’t let the small irritants get to you.

Mind what matters. Belief. Trust. Peace. Time with God will dissipate the small irritants in life and give you positive energy to handle the big irritants.
